I want to connect internet, what are my options?

There are two types of services that can provide you with internet access – fixed or wireless.

Fixed internet services are connected to a specific property via a physical line, and you can only use the connection when you are at or around the property.

Wireless internet services allow you the flexibility to easily relocate from one property to another or access the internet while you are on the go. The type of internet connection you can choose from depends on the infrastructure available in your area.

How long does an internet connection take?

Connecting your home to the internet can be instant or require a little bit of time depending on the type of connection at your premises and the type of internet connection you plan to use. FTTC and FTTP NBN connections, for example, can sometimes be switched on and used immediately if you have an appropriate modem set up. In other cases, an NBN technician may be required to visit the premises before the connection can get up and running.

Once you've utilised HOOD to find the best plan and provider for your internet needs, you'll need to inform us of your move date and other necessary details, which we'll then communicate to your internet provider.

What if I'm switching from my current internet provider?
